Nostalgia

What are you grateful for this beautiful May 2022?

I felt sad when a few people I haven't heard from for awhile opened up about their struggles with mental health. Although life has been not easy for anyone in some shape or form, what I am grateful for is the ability to pass on some resources that may help uplift and encourage others, including those I haven't heard from for awhile. I am grateful for how I and others have benefited from the meditation practice of Falun Dafa, for example. One can learn for free online here.

I am also grateful for the ability to have good memories of past life events, i.e. nostalgia. For instance, I had my first experience going to Europe to visit some family friends, right before the year 2020 began (well a few months prior). That was life-changing. And the messages from past cultures, including seeing messages left in old temples, now museums, were an inspiration to behold.

The photo below is from last year's 'Always Choose The Good' Instagram post on Falun Dafa. It was World Falun Dafa Day on May 13th. πŸ™

The photo above was taken in 2019, Austria. Some inspiration I will be forever grateful for.

Ever since I got a membership to The Chic Society, I have been encouraged to invite more poetry into my life and hope you enjoy the poems shared here in relation to this lovely month that shall soon pass us.

As full of spirit as the month of May, and as gorgeous as the sun in Midsummer.

William Shakespeare

May: the lilacs are in bloom. Forget yourself.

Marty Rubin

The month of May is the pleasant time; its face is beautiful; the blackbird sings his full song, the living wood is his holding, the cuckoos are singing and ever singing; there is a welcome before the brightness of the summer.

Lady Gregory

When the sun is out and the wind is still, You're one month on in the middle of May.

Robert Frost

The spring is fresh and fearless
And every leaf is new,
The world is brimmed with moonlight,
The lilac brimmed with dew.

Here in the moving shadows
I catch my breath and sing--
My heart is fresh and fearless
And over-brimmed with spring.

    Nice Sarah,
I am grateful that our high heat and wind have not made a fire in our backyard. Northern New Mexico is still on fire, over 300,000 of forest acres have been destroyed and many people have lost their homes. I am grateful to the forest service and the volunteer fire fighters from around the country, including Canada, thank you for fighting what must seem the impossible and saving what you can.
Your poems and photos are inspiration to what may come back to us some day.

Wow… thank you, Nancy, for your graceful sharing of what’s happening over there. I am grateful our countries are working together to resolve some of these emergency issues in our environment. πŸŒΏπŸ™ Stay safe and hope everyone has some backup plans. You all are always welcome in Canada. Maybe a road trip soon?
